I had recently received an e-mail from a stranger requesting that I visit a web site. Now everyone with an e-mail address finds lots of these messages in their mailbox. But this one was quite special. It was a plea to help a mother find her son, Sam Fastow. Instead of trying to paraphrase the contents of the e-mail, I will just re-print it:
Hello, my name is Lori Bahl. I am a concerned parent and also a friend of Abby. Abby is the mother of Sam. Sam was abducted by his non-custodial father back in July of 1997 during a weekend visitation. He is missed desperately by his family and friends. We are sending this message in an attempt to get help in bringing Sam home. We are asking all the schools we can to please visit the website Sam's mom has developed. The website address is www.findsam.com there you will find pictures of Sam, his father, the vehicle they were driving and contact persons in case Sam is someone you recognize. We are asking that you send a memo on to all teachers, counselors, students, parents, etc. or maybe print the flyer found at the website and hand it out to all personnel. We are hoping that someone at your schools could be the key to bringing Sam home.....PLEASE HELP US FIND SAM. So far, we have only reached dead ends and are hoping school is the place to look. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to help with this matter. We greatly appreciate any help you can give. Thanks again, Wishing you all the best in 1998, LoriReceiving a message like this really made me stop and think about something that can be often overlooked. In turn, I hope that I can make some of you stop and see how you can help someone like Abby. So please take a moment to stop by the site at www.findsam.com and at some of the other sites listed below. It will just take a little time and it could do a world of good!
In the meantime, I am also including the Web Links Project on this site. Below you will find a banner with the photos and information of children who have been abducted. Please also take a moment to look at the banner. Try to remember to stop back at this page as well. After all, you could help to bring a family back together. You can visit the home of the Web Links Project at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children web site.
Here are some links to other missing children sites. Not only do they have more information about abducted children but they also have tips on how to keep your children safe.
